STYLE AH.
In a career in life skills, there will always be moments of impact, defining moments that remind you why you are here to make a difference. CPA Camp 07 did just that for me. Leaders of Mcpherson Manjusri and Geylang Med u guys are simply awesome. You really shone like the stars in the sky and were powerful dynamos that would never stop. Thank you for this opportunity to empower you, now do go out there and design your destiny. Thanks for the memories and the fun with the sisters and the STYLE ahhhs and the police car that provided us with much entertainment(where got police siren go “Beautiful Girl!”). This is perhaps the one camp I felt I made such a huge impact on one and all, and that’s what the art of fulfilment is all about…NO REGRETS cos we change the world one person at a time. CPA Leaders, you are one of a kind, you gave joy and fulfilment to the chiefs and the coaches cos you believed in what we said and you believed in yourselves. You stayed teacheable and you saw in the camp that impossible is nothing and the best is all you could give and ask of yourselves. You made it thru thick and thin, rain and shine, scoldings(Mojo fierce ah SERIOUSLY!) and laughter, Buddha claps(how now all of us got muscles!) and lame jokes, and you brought home these memories and lessons that will hold for a lifetime. Like Instructor Pei Yun said, you made a difference to us,… now its time for you to take on the world!
And at least we know the people who protect out streets from danger are fun people like Emerson, Chong Lim and VJ!
The most touching part of this story is what Shera wrote for her shoutout:
‘Choices have consequences’
and what Grace and Jiamin wrote on their blogs:
‘ you may forget us, but don’t forget the lessons learnt.’
‘ if you can’t, then you must.’
‘there’s no such thing as failure, only learning experiences.’
‘ you need ‘i’ to have the word faith, and ‘u’ to make the word success’
‘ the word impossible is made up of ‘i m possible.’
‘ STYLE AH!’
‘ LEADERS OUI!’
‘ SISTERS!’
‘ the higher we woosh the further we’ll go!’
that’s the exact words that came out from my mouth throughout the camp during those teachable moments i fashioned for them…awwwwww
And The higher we woosh….all our dreams will come true…

Remember that if you ever need a helping hand there’s one at the end of each arm : one for helping yourself and one for helping others so do not go where the path may lead go where there is no path and leave a trail…Most importantly this is not a time of farewell and goodbyes but simply the start of something new!

A Ship in Harbour is Safe but that’s not what ships are built for…
this is especially for evolsgnisaneryc
Remember if you need a helping hand there’s one at the end of each arm, one for helping yourself and one for helping others
For beautiful eyes seek the best in people, for beautiful lips speak only kind words and for poise walk with the knowledge you never walk alone
Reach out for the sky if you fall you land among the stars!
Ordinary people dont walk the extra mile, but who said you were ordinary?
Life is about chances and choices, the chances you take and the choices you make.
Whether you fail or succed, it shall be no man’s doing but your own… You are the force!
The human heart feels things the eyes cannot see, and knows what the mind cannot understand. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, what is necessary is invisible to the eye
This life must be a test, if it were the real thing you’d be given better instructions…
Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortunes…but great minds rise above them.
To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world
A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle
Everyone wish to accomplish something big not realizing that life is made up of little things
We're all in this together Once we know That we are We're all stars And we see that We're all in this together And it shows When we stand Hand in hand Make our dreams come true

40 Years of NS : Tribute To The Men in Uniform!
On the sunday life edition! today, theres a tribute to 40 years of NS. One of the men featured is Senior Warrant John Selvamani . Officer Commanding of Bronco Company BMTC. What a testimony to the man, really! Its been 6 long years since I saw his face and yet he continues to inspire me! For the uninitiatied, Senior Warrant John was the School Sergeant Major of the Officer Cadet School many years back- back when I was a cadet. Back then, we feared his booming voice and sarcastic comments. The hallowed halls of the parade square was like his playground and we felt like pawns in this little world. We feared for him catching our appearances untidy and confining us and depleting us of our already precious weekends. The Comms Parade rehearsal period of 2 weeks was his showcase and we feared for that period. During that time, we were squeezed dry of sweat under his command, his control and his mere words of wisdom. Imagining one silly mistake would cost us running rounds and rounds round the parade ground! Infamously his words still echo in our conciousness now from his famous : DRINK WATER! to his notorious MARCH PROPERLY!, and YOU ARE OFFICERS OF THE SAF!…and many more stories of wisdom that he passionately replayed with succint impact to each oncoming batch of commissioning officers. A fear for the man at the start of the 2 weeks soon became a routine practice and a routine soon grow to upmost respect for the man who made gentleman out of the officers corp, who orchestrated the parade of many of our lives. And his values still live on in our hearts and soul im very sure of that! All those storytelling after each rehearsal had a subtle significance and it stirred our hearts and touched our lives, for many an officer this man inspired us to reach within our deepest reserves and inspire men of honour and dignity whom we were then about to lead to “battle”. So even after 5 years, and seeing his warm smile in the newspaper I recall a man of dignity whose path Ive been lucky to cross and I must say Ive been proud to have been under his tutelage! And in his words…words I preach to others : “Rank is only what you wear but respect comes from the bottom of the heart.”

Kids say the sweetest things
What is Love from a Child’s Point of View
Slow down for three minutes to read this.
It is so worth it! Touching words from lil kids.
What does Love mean?
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of
4 to 8 year-olds, “What does love mean?”
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have
imagined. See what you think :
_____
“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and
paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands
got arthritis too. That’s love.”
Rebecca- age 8
_____
“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”
Billy – age 4 (I love this one)
_____
“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving
cologne and they go out and smell each other.”
Karl – age 5
_____
“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your
French fries without making them give you any of theirs.”
Chrissy – age 6
___
“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.”
Terri – age 4
_____
“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes
a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.”
Danny – age 7
_____
“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired
of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss”
Emily – age 8
_____
“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop
opening presents and listen.”
Bobby – age 7 (Wow!)
_____
“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with
a friend who you hate,”
Nikka – age 6
(we need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet)
_____
“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears
it everyday.”
Noelle – age 7
_____
“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are
still friends even after they know each other so well.”
Tommy – age 6
_____
“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.”
Elaine-age 5
_____
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says
he is handsomer than Robert Redford.”
Chris – age 7
_____
“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left
him alone all day.”
Mary Ann – age 4
_____
“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her
old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.”
Lauren – age 4
_____
“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little
stars come out of you.” (what an image)
Karen – age 7
_____
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t
think it’s gross.”
Mark – age 6
_____
“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But
if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.”
Jessica – age 8
_____
And the final one — Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked
about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was
an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s
yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little
boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry”
